Mercato di S.Ambrogio in Florence, Italy is steeped in history. The area has been the site for the market since medieval times. Originally, the market was held in open-air along the street. Meats, grains, and dry goods were sold by local producers. In the 19th century, the market was relocated to an interior building for shelter from the elements and better control of price regulations.
Today, Mercato di S.Ambrogio remains a popular shopping destination. Vendors still provide local meats, grains, and dry goods, though there is a more diverse selection to choose from. Visitors can also find clothing, souvenirs, and artisanal products.

Parking is practically non-existent in the city. With a driver, I did not have to worry about finding parking spots or paying fees.
Having a driver meant added protection from the weather and fewer opportunities to get caught up in tourist hordes. It offered great convenience and comfort while venturing around Florence.
